Projects

Every home is different, and every client has different goals. Here are a few examples of projects I've worked on to show what's possible. From overflowing wardrobes to busy family kitchens, these transformations are all about creating homes that feel calmer, more practical and easier to live in.

BEFORE

The Wardrobe Reset

AFTER

The challenge

My client felt overwhelmed every morning because the wardrobe was full of clothes that no longer fitted or weren't being worn.

What we did

We worked together to sort through every item, donated unwanted clothes and reorganised everything into simple categories that suited her daily routine.

The result

✔ Everything is easy to find

✔ Getting dressed is quicker and easier

✔ She has rediscovered clothes she forgot about

✔ 5 bags of clothes and shoes to be donated

"I actually enjoy opening my wardrobe now."

Project at a glance

📍 Area: Wardrobe

⏱  Time: 4 hours

🛍 Donated: 5 bags

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "I can finally see everything I own."

Jo's Tip

"One of the biggest changes here wasn't storage solutions or colour coding - it was simply letting go of clothes and shoes which my client no longer loved. This has created the space to truly appreciate the items she kept hold of."

BEFORE

The Kitchen Rethink

AFTER

The challenge

This client has faced some health issues and was struggling to access parts of her kitchen. She had also accumulated lots of kitchen items over the years.

What we did

We worked through the space one cupboard at a time to avoid overwhelm. The client made decisions about what really deserved space in her home and let go of the rest.

The result

✔ Everything is easier and safer to access

✔ She no longer has to rummage through cupboards to find what she needs

✔ Treasured items now take pride of place

✔ Cleaning and maintenence is so much simpler

"I can find everything I am looking for"

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Kitchen

⏱  Time: 4 hours

🛍 Donated: 5 boxes

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "I have my kitchen back."

Jo's Tip

"When it comes to organising a space, make sure it works for you and your needs. By all means be inspired by images you see online, but be sure to find a solution which makes your life easier, not harder."

BEFORE

Playroom - Chaos to Calm

AFTER

The challenge

My client has two young boys and after years of birthdays and Christmases, the toys in the playroom had gotten out of hand.

What we did

Working through one category at a time (LEGO, boardgames, soft toys, etc), my client made decisions about what was played with and what got ignored. We created the space for the favourite toys to be enjoyed and sent the rest off to be donated.

The result

✔ The boys have the space to play with and enjoy their toys

✔ Mum is no longer driven mad by the mess

✔ The favourite toys can be better looked after and enjoyed

✔ The donated toys get a new life with children who will play with them

"I no longer have to close the door and pretend the mess is not there"

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Playroom

⏱  Time: 8 hours across 2 sessions

🛍 Donated: Multiple boxes (lost count!)

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "The kids can enjoy the space again."

Jo's Tip

"Spaces like playrooms and children's bedrooms will need to be revisited regularly to keep on top of the clutter. Try to implement a one-in-one-out rule when it comes to buying toys."

BEFORE

Reclaiming The Garage

AFTER

The challenge

What should have been a usable storage space had just become a dumping ground. This project was about reclaiming the space and losing the junk.

What we did

Together we emptied the space and categorised the items. The client was then able to make confident decisions about what to keep and what to say goodbye to. Remaining items could be stored where they could easily be found.

The result

✔ The space is now accessible and usable

✔ Anything broken or no longer needed is gone

✔ The client can continue to assess what remains and get rid of even more

✔ We found some items to be sold so there will be some money made

"I can finally get in my garage again!"

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Garage

⏱  Time: 4 hours

🛍 Removed: a full skip!

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "The garage is no longer a death trap."

Jo's Tip

"Wait for a dry day for this sort of job and utilise any outside space you have. Rope in some extra helpers too if you can - there can be a lot of heavy lifting involved."

BEFORE

Finding Yourself Again

AFTER

The challenge

Some changes in life circumstances - involving a quick house move - led to this conservatory space becoming a dumping ground. The challenge was to shed the clutter and create some room to breathe again.

What we did

Working through one box at a time we separated items into keep / donate / sell piles. Most of the items in this room belonged elsewhere so they were moved to their rightful spaces.

The result

✔ The client let go of items which no longer brought her joy or peace

✔ She now has a beautiful space to enjoy

✔ The stress of seeing the mess every day has gone

✔ She rediscovered items she'd forgotten about and can now enjoy

"I feel I'm in a much better place mentally."

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Conservatory

⏱  Time: 4 hours

🛍 Donated: a car boot full (plus multiple bags for Vinted)

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "I can enjoy a glass of wine out here."

Jo's Tip

"Clearing physical space can also help to clear mental space. Never underestimate the power of a good decluttering session."

BEFORE

The Room of Doom

AFTER

The challenge

The spare room had become a dumping ground for clothes. It was a case of shut the door and forget about it. This session was about making the space usable again.

What we did

I cleared the space and categorised the clothes. The client and her daughter could then make informed decisions about what to keep and what to donate. Keep items were then organised and stored neatly where they could be accessed.

The result

✔ The room can now be used as a functional space

✔ The door can be left open!

✔ The client's daughter has her clothes back

✔ This project has encouraged them to work on other areas of the home

"I don't have to hide this room anymore."

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Spare Room

⏱  Time: 4 hours

🛍 Donated: 5 bags

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "I can redecorate and use the space."

Jo's Tip

"Break big jobs like this down. I started with the floor to be able to gain access, then cleared the bed before tackling storage spaces."

BEFORE

Visible Spaces

AFTER

The challenge

This was part of a larger project, but this area in particular was annoying my client. The goal was to reduce the stress and the mental clutter.

What we did

We completely cleared the space and categorised the items (mostly paperwork). My clients worked through to decide what needed to be kept and where it ought to live. The rest was recycled or disposed of.

The result

✔ They no longer have to be faced with the mess every day

✔ The clutter trap has been cleared so it is easier to prevent it rebuilding

✔ Important documents are no longer lost in the pile

✔ The energy in the space feels much calmer

"I no longer have to look at the mess."

Project at a glance

📍 Room: Hallway

⏱  Time: 1-2 hours

🛍 Donated: Nothing - all recycled or thrown away

📦 Storage purchased: None

😊 Favourite outcome: "I feel calmer in the space."

Jo's Tip

"Visible areas are always a great place to work on. Being able to see the difference that your decluttering session has made can really help motivate you to continue."
